Road reopens following gas leak in West Bloomfield Township

WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Police said Maple Road in West Bloomfield Township is open in both directions on Tuesday evening after a gas leak on Monday.

Police received a call at about 3:30 p.m. after landscapers working near Maple Road and Stonebridge Boulevard accidentally ruptured a commercial gas line. Authorities said there were no injuries reported and no evacuations.

Maple Road between Drake and Farmington roads was closed for repairs. On Tuesday, West Bloomfield police said eastbound traffic will use the center turn lane until further notice. 

The road is expected to be fully open on Wednesday morning.
