Rick Snyder Says He's Committed To Fixing Issues In Flint
HARRISON TOWNSHIP (AP) — Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder says he's committed to fixing issues in Flint, which is facing a crisis with lead-tainted water.
Snyder spoke Monday at a luncheon in Macomb County. He said the Flint crisis is a "truly tragic situation," and that there were "a handful of experts with decades of experience in water quality making terrible decisions." He said they continually said the water was safe until October "with major consequences."
Snyder said he took responsibility but that "you don't roll up into a ball" and that he's "committed to fixing the issues in Flint."
Snyder also talked about Detroit Public Schools, saying "the best solution is a legislative solution and not let it go to the courts." The school district has struggled financially.
