DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) -- In a search for much-needed bullpen help, reports are surfacing that the Detroit Tigers are looking at acquiring Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Antonio Bastardo.
According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi, the Tigers are interested in possibly making a move for the 28-year-old from the Dominican Republic.
Bastardo is in the midst of his sixth season with the Phillies, posting a 3.38 ERA with 51 strikeouts and 24 walks. Bastardo totaled 57 holds between 2011 and 2013, while having only six this season.
A nine-year veteran, Papelbon has quietly put together a career season -- 1.17 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 33 strikeouts, nine walks and 23 saves.
