CBS DETROIT - The Michigan State Spartans often encounter formidable nonconference foes - including Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina in the past two seasons - and it appears that trend could continue this year.
ESPN's Andy Katz reported Tuesday that Florida is working to schedule a home-and-home series with Michigan State, with the first game to be played in East Lansing and the second to be played in Gainsville in the 2016-2017 season.
Michigan State is coming off an improbable Final Four run, while Florida missed the tournament last season. The Gators are usually a quality team, however, and the Spartans have made the tournament in 18 straight seasons, so the matchup should be a compelling one if and when it happens.
