Report: Brian Xanders To Meet With Dolphins About GM Job
The senior personnel director for the Detroit Lions Brian Xanders is reportedly a candidate for the Miami Dolphins vacant GM job. Xanders was previously the GM of the Denver Broncos till he and the team mutually parted ways after the 2012 season.
Xanders joined the Lions following a five-year stint with the Denver Broncos, four seasons as the Broncos general manager. At the time of his promotion in 2009, Xanders was the youngest general manager in the NFL at the age of 37.
During his tenure as the Broncos general manager, Denver claimed the 2011 NFC West Division title. From 2009-11, the Broncos acquired 25 players through the draft and free agency that ended the 2011 season on the active or reserve roster. Denver became only the third team since the 1970 NFL merger to win its division and a playoff game with a new head coach following four or fewer wins the previous season.
