Luke Glendening and Riley Sheahan go up against Justin Abdelkader and Dylan Larkin in a game of NHL 17 in the Red Wings locker room for a video promoting the Electronic Arts game.
Posted to the team's YouTube channel Thursday the 1:40 clip puts the real players behind the controller of the digital Red Wings.
A light-hearted rivalry sprouts up immediately.
Glendening was confident from the start. "The only thing we're hoping is that there's a mercy rule for the other team in this game," he said.
"What's going on with you guys," asks Sheahan pointedly after going up 3-0.
Larkin and Abdelkader make it respectable eventually scoring three goals losing 4-3.
Larkin remarks how he scored all of his side's three goals. "Just sayin'," he added ribbing Abdelkader.
"Maybe it's a lack of chemistry," speculated Sheahan.
Dylan "D-Boss" Larkin is no stranger to YouTube with classics like "... Shooting Pucks In The Basement".
