PVS Chemicals Donating Sanitizer To Frontline Workers
(CBS DETROIT) - A local company is using their lab skills to keep frontline workers safe in the pandemic.
The staff at PVS Chemicals is putting their knowledge to work to a product that's in high demand for free hand-sanitizer.
The company is donating the disinfectant to health care workers and first responders in Detroit and Buffalo.
Thousands of bottles have already been shipped-off and more is being produced.
The company's CEO says this is a way for them to give back to the people who are out everyday working for others.
"People that drive our trucks in our manufacturing plants, as well as people who need it in the community. So we're giving it to the Detroit Police Department, to the Buffalo Police Department and we're given it to retirement homes and other places. The post office other people that are on the frontline that needs to be safe during this time of Covid-19," said CVS Chemicals President and C.E.O. David Nicholson.
"It's our little piece to give back and you know America is a very innovative place and uh different people are doing what they're good at and this is something we can do that we're good at and we can handle safely and we're proud to be part of it," said Nicholson.
PVS Chemicals is a family owned business headquartered on Detroit's east side.
