Public Meeting Tuesday On I-275 Overhaul Project About To Begin
LIVONIA (WWJ) - Will you daily commute be affected by major freeway construction about to begin?
The public is invited to attend a special meeting informational meeting on the upcoming I-275 repair project in the cities of Novi, Livonia and Farmington Hills.
The meeting — held Tuesday, April 12 by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) staff — will feature a presentation at 5 p.m., with a repeat presentation from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
There will also be exhibits displaying project locations, types of work, and detours. Interested parties will have the opportunity to meet the construction team and learn details about the project, including schedule and detours.
Work on the $75 million project, scheduled to begin soon and end in fall, will include replacing 13 miles of concrete pavement on I-275 from north of 5 Mile Road to the I-96/I-696/M-5 interchange, including all the ramps on Mile roads and at the I-96/I-696/M-5 interchange.
The project also includes shoulder work on I-275, concrete repairs on I-696, repairs on 16 bridges, drainage improvements, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) work.
The meeting will take place at Davenport University, 19499 Victor Parkway in Livonia.
