Pontiac Man May Have Been Dead In His Home For Months, Authorities Say

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Deputies checking on a man, who neighbors hadn't seen since last fall, found him dead inside his Pontiac home.

Neighbors contacted the Oakland County Sheriff's Office to request a welfare check, saying they last saw the 53-year-old man in October. They told deputies that the snow in his driveway, 50 block of E. Rutgers, went unplowed all winter — and his truck was in the driveway.

Deputies forced the front door open Thursday evening and found the man's body.

Authorities say he he'd been dead a long time, judging by the condition of the corpse. They added that dated food items in the trash indicate he may have been alive in December, 2013.

The Oakland County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine cause of death.

The man's name was not immediately released.
