Pontiac Man Lied About Stabbing To Protect Guilty Girlfriend, Authorities Say

PONTIAC (WWJ) - A Pontiac man is recovering from a stab wound after he allegedly lied to deputies about how it happened.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says deputies discovered the 29-year-old victim intoxicated and bleeding from the stomach at around 11 a.m. on Sunday, at a home in the 140 block of Perkins Street.

The man said he had fallen on a kitchen knife, but deputies later determined that the man's 24-year-old girlfriend — inside the home with her two children at the time — was responsible for the stabbing.

The man was taken to a local hospital, the woman was arrested, the children were left in the care of the woman's grandmother, and Child Protective Services was notified.

The victim was last reported in stable condition.

The woman remains at the Oakland County Jail awaiting formal charges.

There was no immediate word on what may have led to the stabbing. No names have been released.
