Pond Hockey Tournament Planned Next Month In Port Huron

PORT HURON (WWJ/AP) - A pond hockey tournament is expected to take place next month in Port Huron.

Fred Minnie, Mike Dewey and Ron Hembroff are building two rinks at Port Huron's Palmer Park to host a three-on-three tournament in late February. The men have covered about 9,000 square feet of property with ice, according to The Times Herald. It's located south of the recreation center at 2829 Armour Street.

A date for the tournament hasn't been selected yet, but it will likely be on a Sunday in late February. The tournament will cost $10 a player, with proceeds used to help local youth hockey. Teams will consist of six people, and anyone and everyone is encouraged to play.

If you're interested in signing up, contact Fred Minnie by calling 810-984-1029.
