Police: Woman Stabbed Husband To Death After Birthday Party

DETROIT (WWJ) - Charges are pending against a Detroit woman who is accused of fatally stabbing her husband after a birthday party Tuesday.

Police say the 56-year-old had just celebrated her birthday at a home in the 5600-block of Casmere Street when she got into an argument with her husband. After everyone else left things escalated, police said, and the woman grabbed a knife and stabbed the man.

Police tried to save the man using CPR, but were unsuccessful. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The woman was questioned and arrested following the incident. She remained in custody Wednesday.

Police said investigators will send their report to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office which will determine what criminal charges will be filed.

Police said the victim was also in his 50s.
