Police: Teen Held After Gun Hidden In School Bathroom

SAGINAW (WWJ/AP) - Police say a 15-year-old middle school student has been taken into custody after police found a loaded gun hidden in a bathroom at a Saginaw school.

Saginaw police Detective Sgt. Reggie Williams told The Saginaw News that police were dispatched to Thompson Middle School on Monday after students reported a gun.

Police and security officers searched the school and found gun in ceiling tiles inside a boys' bathroom, Williams said.

The teen was taken to the Saginaw County Juvenile Detention Center, where he is being held on weapons violation charges.

"We want our citizens and our parents to know that we will use every resource that we have at our disposal to ensure the safety of our community, especially our children," said Williams.
