Police Seek Help To ID Young Pedestrian Struck And Killed On 10 Mile

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Southfield police are asking for the public's help in identifying a young woman who was killed in a vehicle/pedestrian accident.

Police say the woman, believed to be in her teens, was walking along 10 Mile Road at Telegraph when she was struck by a car at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

The driver was a 20-year-old woman from Canton. She was questioned by police and released pending further investigation.

Police said it appears the vehicle had the right-of-way and proceeded through the intersection on a green traffic signal. The vehicle was also occupied by three passengers who were each interviewed at the scene. Police said they are still in the process of interviewing witnesses as the investigation continues.

The unidentified pedestrian is described as an African American female. She was wearing a coral colored cropped sweater, blue jeans and brown sandals.
