Police Searching For 2 Who Shot Man, Ran Down Bicyclists In Red Dodge Durango

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are looking for tips from the public as they search for two suspects in a disturbing crime spree on the city's west side.

The pair, police say, were traveling in a Red Dodge Durango when they deliberate side-swiped 33-year-old man on a bike on Puritan near Greenfield at around 3:50 a.m. While the victim was lying on the ground, the suspects allegedly demanded his belongings at gunpoint. Police say a book-bag containing miscellaneous items and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken.

Later that morning, at around 5:30 a.m., police say the same suspects in the same vehicle struck 50-year-old man on a bike at on 8 Mile near Burt Road. The suspects then got out of the car and robbed the victim of his wallet, keys, cell phone and his bike at gunpoint.

Upon further investigation, police found that the suspects in those two incidents matched the description of two men suspected in a shooting even earlier that morning. At around 3:20 a.m., on Fenkell St. near Ohio, a 38-year-old man was walking toward Wyoming when a Red Dodge Durango pulled up next to him and shots were fired. The victim was struck in the body, but survived. He was treated as a local hospital for a single gunshot wound.

Police said the suspects wanted in this case should be considered armed and dangerous. No descriptions of the suspects were not provided.

Anyone who may know these suspects or who has any information about this crime is asked to call the Detroit Police 10th Precinct's Investigations section at 313-596-1040 or the Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. As always, tipsters to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and a crash reward may be available if an arrest is made.
