Police Search For Suspect In Grosse Pointe Woods Bank Robbery

GROSSE POINTE WOODS (WWJ) -- A man suspected to have robbed a Grosse Pointe Woods bank is remains at large.

Police say the man entered a Charter One on Mack Ave. and Bournemouth at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday. It is unclear if the man had a weapon as he handed a teller a note demanding cash.

After the teller complied with the suspect's demands, surrendering an unknown amount of money, the suspect fled the scene in an older model white Chevy Monte Carlo. Grosse Pointe Woods Police Lt. John Kosanke described the man police are looking for.

"An African-American male between 30 to 40 years of age, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, heavy-set, wearing a multi-colored skullcap, glasses, clean-shaven, black Carhartt jacket, dark pants and possibly work boots," Kosanke said.
