Police Search For Suspect In Armed Robbery, Abduction In Dearborn
DEARBORN (WWJ) -- Police in Dearborn are on the lookout for a man suspected of armed robbery and abduction.
On March 7, a woman was approached by a man who showed a handgun and demanded money and her wallet, while forcing her into the passenger seat. After the suspect took control of the vehicle, he drove around to several locations. The victim was able to escape at Patton Park located near Vernor and Dix where she called for help.
Shortly after, the vehicle was located by Dearborn police officers in the area of Michigan Ave. and Livernois where the occupants fled. Dearborn Police located the vehicle unoccupied in Detroit near Livernois and Otis.
The suspect is described as a light-complected male, approximately 5-foot-6, 120 pounds, with a thin build and is clean-shaven. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie jacket, a baseball cap, and light-colored jeans at the time of the incident.
"The Dearborn Police are committed to ensuring the safety of our citizens and will continue to investigate until the suspect is identified and prosecuted," Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement. "Anyone who can help identify the suspect in the police sketch is encouraged to contact the Dearborn Police".
