Police Search For Suspect Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Monroe Man
MONROE (WWJ) -- Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding Robert Walden, the man accused of stabbing a Monroe man to death who was promoting a remembrance of his deceased sister.
According to Crime Stoppers, several individuals were involved in a gambling/dice game that led to a fight when Walden stabbed the first person he approached.
The victim, 26-year-old Bryan Allen, was not involved in the dice game or altercation and witnesses stated that Allen was simply a bystander.
Walden is 21-years-old, 5-foot-8 and 165 pounds. He also has a tattoo on the top of both hands with unknown words and letters.
Allen's mother Clara Allen called the act a senseless crime against her son.
"My plan is a non-violent group in our church, something that we can start voicing and calling people out for their actions," Allen said.
Crime Stoppers hosted a press conference Monday at the Monroe Police Department announcing a $2,500 reward for information leading to Walden's arrest. Police believe Walden could be in the Detroit area, where Walden may have family connections.
