Police: Pickup Driver Hits School Bus, Flees On Foot

DAVISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - Authorities in the Flint area are looking for a man wanted in a literal hit and run.

According to police, pickup truck driver rear-ended a school bus, in Genesee County's Davison Township, injuring one child in the collision before fleeing the scene on foot.

The Flint Journal reports the crash happened around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday when the bus was stopped to pick up students on East Bristol Road, west of South Irish Road. Police said the bus had about 20 children on board and one girl was treated for minor injuries after she bumped her head during the crash.

As of 8 a.m. Tuesday, police were looking for the driver of a white Markee Electric pickup. The Journal reported the owner of Markee Electric, a Flint-based business, declined to comment on the incident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
