Four Shot At Detroit Tax Prep Office

DETROIT (WWJ) - Four people were shot Friday at a tax services office on Detroit's east side.

It happened at around 3:30 p.m. at Tax City on Gratiot Ave., east of Warren.

Police talking to WWJ Newsradio 950's Kathryn Larson at the scene said the alleged gunman is custody.

According to reports, when the suspect got into an argument with a tax prep clerk, a security guard stepped in, and that's when he started shooting.

Detroiter Michael Anders, who lives in the neighborhood, said he heard shots fired and he came to see what had happened.

"Four of 'em shot, I think two girls, two boys," Anders said, guessing what he thought might have led to the shooting: "(The gunman) got mad about his taxes, you know what I'm saying? Just went berserk, you know?"

Two of those injured were reported to be in serious condition, and two were critical.

No names have been released.

Authorities were looking to talk to a woman who was with the gunman at the time of the shooting, but she has since turned herself in to police.
