Police Give All-Clear After Bomb Threats In Downtown Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Police have given the all clear after swarming a pair of buildings in downtown Detroit overnight.
Authorities received a phone call around 2 a.m. Tuesday from a man who indicated there were pipe bombs at the McNamara Federal Building and the Penobscot Building.
Officers from several agencies, including the FBI and Homeland Security, responded to both buildings and erected a barrier. Agents spent a few hours looking for suspicious packages and pipe bombs but found nothing and cleared the scene. No one was injured.
Authorities are now trying to determine who placed the phone call. An investigation is ongoing.
