Police Arrest Owner Of Pit Bulls That Viciously Mauled Man

DETROIT (AP) — A man has been arrested in connection with the vicious attack by a pack of pit bulls he owned on a 50-year-old man in a Detroit neighborhood.

The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press report that a fugitive apprehension team caught the 61-year-old man Monday at an east side house after months of searching.

He had been wanted on harboring a vicious animal causing injury charges. He was arrested on an unrelated warrant after the attack in October, but was released a few days later.

Steve Constantine lost most of his left arm, his left leg below the knee and his left ear in the attack.

Police killed one dog at the scene and rounded up at least 11 others.
