Police: Alcohol A Factor In Fatal Mt. Clemens Accident, Charges Expected
MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - A driver is under police guard at a hospital and expected to face charges for a fatal accident in Mt. Clemens over the weekend.
Witnesses have told police that the driver of a conversion van ran a red light on Groesbeck at Cass on Saturday night before slamming into a PT Cruiser.
The driver of the car that was hit, a 64-year-old woman, was killed instantly.
Macomb County Sheriff's deputies say they have proof that the van driver was drinking before the crash. He has two prior drunk driving convictions.
