Police: 6-Year-Old Boy Finds Gun In Unlocked Apartment, Shoots Self
BATTLE CREEK (WWJ/AP) - Police say a 6-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the hand after finding a gun in an unlocked apartment.
Police say the shooting happened Thursday night in Battle Creek.
The boy, who lives in the building, was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
Police are now trying to figure out how the boy got into the apartment of the gun owner, who doesn't have any children.
