AMBER ALERT: Police Say 13-Year-Old Boy Riding Bike In Detroit Was Kidnapped [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - An Amber Alert issued for a 13-year-old boy Detroit who police say was grabbed by a man while riding his bike has been upgraded to a kidnapping.

Police tell WWJ the suspect is 45-year-old Gregory Walker of Detroit. Police say Walker is to be considered armed and dangerous and do not recommend that anybody approach him.

Deontae Mitchell was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday near Nino's Market on East Warren, between Outer Drive and Alter Road on the city's east side — and police now say they have video of the abduction.

According to police, Mitchell was riding bikes with his cousin behind the market when they passed "a drunk man."

"The cousin stated a drunk man dropped some money while urinating outside the market," police said in a statement. "The cousin states Mitchell picked up the money and both cousins pedaled off on their bicycles."

A short time later, the cousin got information that Mitchell had been grabbed by a black male in a 2002 Chevy Impala and was being held against his will, according to police. No one has heard from Mitchell since.

After going over 14 hours of surveilence footage, Detroit Police James Craig said they have video evidence showing Mitchell being forced into the back of a car — possibly a model year 2001 through 2004 a black Impala with a spoiler.

Family members joined Detroit police outside the 5th Precinct Wednesday late afternoon, asking for the public's help in finding the teen.

"I want my grandson home," Mitchell's grandmother, Vernice Ellington, said through tears.  "I miss you and I love you, God be with you."

Mitchell is described as a black male with a medium-brown complexion, 4'11" tall and 86 lbs. with light hazel eyes. At the time, he was wearing a lime green Nautica shirt and gray jogging pants with black gym shoes.

The suspect (seen in security images above) is a black male. He was wearing a black tank top, black shorts and a black Florida Marlins baseball cap.  He's said to have a scar on the left side of this face.

Chief Craig offered this advice to the alleged kidnapper:

"Turn yourself in, because we will find you. I've said this before and every time we say it we do it," Craig said.

"We have good images, we have facts from either people in the neighborhood who know who you are. So save yourself some trouble; turn yourself in."

Anyone who may have seen the suspect or who has any information on Mitchell's whereabouts is urged to contact Detroit police at 313-596-1616 or dial 911.
