Plans Move Forward On $80 Million Overhaul Of I-275

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ/AP) - Plans are moving forward for an $80 million project to overhaul part of I-275 in the Detroit area.

The project to replace concrete on the freeway between 5 Mile Road through the interchange with I-96, I-696 and M-5 is expected to begin this spring. It involves work in the Farmington Hills, Novi and Livonia areas.

The Michigan Department of Transportation has created a website for the project -- revive275.com -- to offer updates about road closures and other information.

MDOT plans to work with the Wayne County Road Commission and the Road Commission of Oakland County to coordinate construction.
