Parade Company Unveils New Floats For 2014 Thanksgiving Day Parade
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Parade Company headquarters in Detroit opened its doors for the annual preview party and the unveiling of the Motown Museum float commissioned by Art Van Furniture.
So it won't come as a surprise when you see dancing in the streets at the Thanksgiving Day parade this year.
WWJ's Stephanie Davis got a sneak-peak of the newest float.
"At the top of the float you have a perfect replica of the Hitsville, USA house - with music notes and ... records just flowing from the house so you know it's a place where emanated the worlds' best music," said Robin Terry is Motown Museum Trustee Chair.
Art Van Furniture Chairman and Founder, Art Van Eslander was on hand for the float's unveiling at Parade Company headquarters in Detroit this evening.
"When I think about Detroit ... two things are synonymous with Detroit; one is, of course, the Motor City - nobody questions that. The other is ... Motown, those are the two big things," noted Van Eslander.
Ten-year-old Ariyana Carlock of Centerline was impressed with the new float.
"I really like it, I like how they put all the effort into it," she said.
