Out Of Control Car Slams Into Detroit Apartment Building [PHOTOS]

DETROIT (WWJ) - It made for an alarming sight, but amazingly no one was hurt when a car slammed into an apartment building in Detroit.

It happened Friday afternoon on Greenfield just south of 6 Mile Road on the city's northwest side.

Police said a car headed southbound on Greenfield was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and crashed into the Greenfield Terrace Apartments — ending up nearly on its side, sticking out of the building.

Reporting from the scene, WWJ Newsradio 950's Stephanie Davis said it was difficult to believe that no one was injured either inside the car or inside the building.

"Now, I did see the driver as I was pulling up — the driver just kinda checking out his vehicle. I asked if he was OK, he said yes, but he didn't wanna go on tape," Davis said.

It was not immediately clear what charges the driver might face in connection with the incident.  An investigation continues.
