Oakland County Man Killed In Crash With Semi On Dixie Hwy.
GROVELAND TWP. (WWJ) - A 43-year-old Oakland County man has been killed in a crash with a semi truck in Groveland Township.
According to Michigan State Police, it happened at around 9 a.m. Thursday, along southbound Dixie Hwy. near Belford Road.
Police say a 2015 Ford Focus, driven by an Oxford, Michigan, man was heading southbound on Dixie when he entered the northbound lanes and was struck by a semi.
The driver of the Ford, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver was taken to Genesys Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
MSP investigators with the Metro North are looking into what caused the crash — including whether or not it may have been intentional.
No names have been released.
