Novi Cheesecake Factory Temporarily Closed After Fire
NOVI (WWJ) - It may be a couple of hours before a popular Novi restaurant is fully operational after a fire Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to the Cheesecake Factory, near I-96 and Novi Road inside 12 Oaks Mall, ready to battle a blaze — but 911 dispatchers said it was out by the time crews arrived.
"Very early this morning we discovered a small fire in our prep kitchen," said Alethea Rowe, Senior Director for Public Relations, The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated, in a statement emailed to WWJ Newsradio 950.
"Thankfully no one was hurt during this incident and we were able to quickly put out the fire with an extinguisher."
Rowe said they were at work on "a few small repairs" and hoped to reopen later in the day.
No information about the cause of the fire has been released.
The 12 Oaks Mall location is the Cheesecake Factory chain's only location in Michigan.
