Northbound M-10 Closes Due To Water Main Break

DETROIT (WWJ) - A water main break along the Lodge Freeway completely shut down the road's northbound lanes on Detroit's west side Saturday.

The break happened around 8 a.m. Saturday on northbound M-10 near Linwood Street, just east of Livernois Avenue. The freeway reopened later in the afternoon.

Water covered all lanes and traffic stretches back for at least two miles.

"We're also getting reports that people are backing up from the northbound Lodge and getting off the freeway at the Davison entrance ramp," said WWJ Traffic Reporter Marty Bufalini. "That's an extremely dangerous thing to do and it is illegal to do that. So please, don't do that. Be patient if you're in the area."

For the latest from the roads, stay with WWJ Newsradio 950 during Traffic and Weather on the 8s, 24-hours a day. Check for recent incidents now on the CBS Detroit Traffic Page.
