North Rosedale Park Community House Celebrates Milestone

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the only community house of it's kind in the city of Detroit -- it's owned by the residents.

A ribbon cutting took place celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the North Rosedale Park Community House and a spacious new addition.

Marsh Bruhn, who is with the Rosedale Park Civic Association steering committee, says there is a lot of community support and a 2,300 square foot addition to be excited about:

"To have over 300 people from the community, the larger community across the city, and the corporations, the city of Detroit, the state of Michigan supporting the renovation of this 75 year old building -- it's just heart warming - I think what it speaks to is recognizing the important of this building," said Bruhn.

Bruhn says they've raised more than $800,000 for their Legacy Project that will allow them to start Phase 2 of the renovations at the community house.
