Non-Profit 'Life Remodeled' Sets Sights On Cody High School In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Inside and out; Cody High School is about to sport a new look.

Life Remodeled, a non-profit organization, is putting in the funding to make the new look happen, with a larger goal of reshaping lives one neighborhood at a time.

Renovations include new landscaping, updated labs inside the building and a new football field for a school that hasn't had a field to call their own in six years.

"We found real stories of real need - real violence against kids - one of the highest violent crime rates against kids in entire city of Detroit. A graduation rate that used to be among the worst five percent in the nation," said Chris Lambert, founder and CEO of Life Remodeled.

The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of September -- just in time for Cody's first home football game this season.
