No Injuries Reported Following Shootout At Ypsilanti Playground

YPSILANTI (AP) - No injuries were reported following a shootout between two men in a park near a building that's home to kindergarten classes in Ypsilanti.

Police say between 10 and 12 shots were fired around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in Parkridge Park near Perry Early Education Center. The Ann Arbor News reports a teacher called 911 and officers arrested a 19-year-old Ypsilanti Township man who fled on foot.

Police say they recovered a gun from the man. The other man believed to be involved in the shooting was described as being in his 20s. Police say they don't know why the men were shooting at each other. The school was placed under a brief lockdown following the shooting.
