New Senior Affordable Apartment Building Completed In Detroit's Brush Park

DETROIT (AP) — A new apartment building has been completed in Detroit's Brush Park neighborhood.

Detroit-based real estate firm Bedrock says The Flats at 124 Alfred will be available for people 55 and older who earn 30% to 60% of the area median income, or $14,910 to $29,820.

The 54-unit building has a fitness center, residential lounge with a large outdoor terrace, outdoor garden spaces, bike share, gated underground parking and high-speed internet.

It is the first of six apartment buildings to be completed in the 8.4-acre City Modern development which is expected to combine historic properties with modern design. The development includes four existing Victorian mansions and 20 new buildings.

Brush Park is north of downtown and one of Detroit's oldest neighborhoods.
