Jim Harbaugh isn't often out of the headlines when it comes to his time as Michigan head coach, and now it's for recruiting. He landed a commitment from four/five-star running back Kareem Walker, considered the best high school running back in the country, on Thursday.

Walker is 6-1, 210 pounds and a senior at De Paul Catholic High School in New Jersey. He carried 215 times for 1,517 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, and he said he plans on enrolling at Michigan early, so that he can go through spring practice next semester.

According to Rivals, Michigan currently has 23 players on its 2016 commitment list, including 11 who are either four- or five-stars. It's the number-one ranked recruiting class in the country, after Walker's commitment was factored in.

Besides Michigan, Walker was also considering Florida State, Alabama, Auburn and Arizona State. He had also previously committed to Ohio State.

Walker will likely play a big role with Michigan as soon as he gets on campus. The Wolverines' rushing game struggled this season, averaging 152.67 yards on the ground per game (good for ninth in the Big Ten).
