Murder Victims Pulled From Burning Detroit Home ID'd
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Two men found slain inside a burning Detroit home and a third man who later died at a hospital have been identified.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office said 51-year-old Lawrence Bowman was stabbed multiple times and died from a gunshot to the head. The other victims -- Bowman's 26-year-old son, Nicholas, and 24-year-old Michael Hoots -- were stabbed to death.
Firefighters discovered the men after responding to a fire at Bowman's home in the 13000 block of Bentler, near I-96 and Outer Drive, around 3 p.m. Monday. Lawrence Bowman and Hoots were found dead in the basement. Nicholas Bowman was pulled from the home by firefighters, but later died at the hospital.
Investigators said it appears the blaze was intentionally set to cover up the murders. No arrests have been made.
