Murder Charge Filed In Death Of 86-Year-Old Detroit Man

DETROIT (AP) — A young man has been charged with murder in the death of an 86-year-old man who disappeared after telling people that he won a lottery prize.

Quanzell Hood was charged Friday with first-degree murder. The 20-year-old is in jail and will appear in court Saturday.

Arthur Neal's body was found Sunday in a vacant Detroit home, about six weeks after he disappeared. Hood is accused of killing Neal while trying to get money from him.

Police aren't sure if Neal actually won a $20,000 lottery prize. No winning ticket has been cashed.
