Motorcyclist Survives After Being Thrown From Bike In Fiery Crash

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Authorities say a 44-year-old motorist who was ejected from his bike in a fiery crash is lucky to have is life.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. Monday on M-10 near 9 Mile Road in Southfield.

According to police, the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on M-10 when he struck a GMC pickup truck and his bike burst into flames.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and received only minor injuries. The other driver was uninjured.

The freeway was closed for nearly three hours as police investigated, but has since reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
