Motorcyclist Hurt In Crash Closing Schoenherr Road In Sterling Heights

STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) - One person was hurt in a motorcycle crash, late Monday afternoon in Sterling Heights.

At 4:30 p.m., police had Schoenherr Road shut down in both directions, between 14 Mile Road and Moravian Drive, for an accident investigation.

Police are saying very little at this time about what happened, but they did confirm that the motorcyclist was taken to Henry Ford Hospital Macomb where his or her condition was unknown.

No one else was hurt.

WWJ's Brooke Allen reported traffic in the area was a mess as the afternoon rush began.

"Heading northbound on Schoenherr, traffic is stacked up from 13 Mile and people, you know, are pretty impatient with this," Allen said. "They are heading toward subdivisions, cutting through — so you certainly want to be careful and you certainly want to avoid this area if at all possible."

For the latest from the roads, stay with WWJ Newsradio 950 during Traffic and Weather on the 8s, 24-hours a day. Check for recent incidents now on the CBS Detroit Traffic page.
