Motorcycle Driver Killed In Crash With SUV In Macomb County
NEW HAVEN (WWJ) - A motorcycle driver has been killed in a crash with an SUV in Macomb County.
Macomb County Sheriff deputies remained on the scene, Friday afternoon, of the accident that happened at 11:10 a.m. at the intersection of New Haven Road and Gratiot in the Village of New Haven.
According to preliminary information from the sheriff's office, a 56 year-old New Haven woman in a 2003 Ford Explorer was travelling eastbound on New Haven when she attempted to turn left onto Gratiot.
That's when she collided with the motorcyclist — who was driving westbound on New Haven — in the intersection.
Lt. John Michalke told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the motorcycle driver died, but could not immediately offer any information about the victim.
It's unclear at this time who was at fault.
The intersection is closed and traffic is being diverted as the crash investigation by the Macomb County Sheriff Crash Investigation Team continues.
