Missing Detroit Teen Feared Abducted Found Safe

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 18-year-old Detroit woman whose mother received an alarming text message has been found safe.

Jazmin Williams, who is a Wayne State University student, had last been seen by her mom at her home in the 4000 block of Webb when she left for class at around 7 a.m. on Thursday. Later in the day, Jazmin's mother received a message from Jazmin's phone that sent chills down her spine.

"Her mother received information from her via text, stating she was being held against her will," Detroit Police Spokesman Adam Madera told WWJ's Sandra McNeill, Friday morning.

Police say officers used a signal from Jazmin's cell phone to locate her at a home on Tuxedo Street, just a short time after her picture and description were released to the media.

Police are still investigating the case to find out exactly what happened to Jazmin, including who sent the text.
