Miguel Cabrera Turns Down Playoff Bonus; Just Wants A Ring

It's not very often you see a professional athlete turn down the money he is owed, but it's also not very often you get to see a professional athlete with the talent that Miguel Cabrera has.

And when you've got that kind of talent, money apparently isn't an issue.

According to USA Today, Cabrera was sitting at his locker when Max Scherzer came by with a clipboard that required players signatures in order to receive their playoff bonus. If it was me, I couldn't sign fast enough.

In this case, Miggy declined to sign.

"I'm not signing anything," Cabrera reportedly told Scherzer.

According to the report Cabrera was "adamant" about not signing and talked with Victor Martinez in Spanish saying, "I just want the ring."

Cabrera can go back and sign the paper at anytime and get paid, but I think it's nice to see a player who wants to win more than he wants the money that could come with it.

Having said all that, I think Miguel Cabrera is all set on money since he signed a $248 million extension.
