Michigan's Berenson Earns 800th Victory

ANN ARBOR (AP) — Michigan hockey coach Red Berenson earned his 800th victory Saturday when the Wolverines beat Minnesota 7-5.

The 75-year-old Berenson, in his 31st season as Michigan's coach, is the fourth Division I men's hockey coach to reach 800 victories. That club also includes current Boston College coach Jerry York (974), former Michigan State coach Ron Mason (924) and former Boston University coach Jack Parker (897). Berenson is 800-391-84.

Dylan Larkin scored twice, and Michael Downing had a goal and two assists for Michigan.
