'Michigan Matters' Focus: Reading On The Riverfront And Race For The White House
By CBS Detroit
Thousands of young students from Metro Detroit have been dazzled by luminaries from business, sports and politics reading to them all summer long.
The Reading and Rhythm on the Riverfront series, created by the Riverfront Conservancy and sponsored by GM, has been encouraging young children to read since it was launched a few years ago.
Jackie Parker, of GM, talked about the auto maker's focus on education and helping young people learn skills for the future during taping of CBS 62's "Michigan Matters."
She appeared with Carol Cain, Senior Producer/Host, and discussed how the Motor City is so vital to GM's future.
Then, Jill Alper, Partner, Dewey Square Group, Keith Owens, Senior Editor, Michigan Chronicle, and Stu Sandler, Partner, Grand River Strategies, appeared on the roundtable.
They discussed Donald Trump's Friday appearance in Michigan for a second time in as many weeks.
And they talked about the volatile nature of his campaign and its impact on the GOP.
You can watch "Michigan Matters" 11:30 Sunday only on CBS 62.
