Marysville Man Dies After Motorcycle Crash Along Woodward Ave.

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Oakland County authorities believe alcohol may have been a factor in a fatal motorcycle accident over the weekend.

Sheriff's officials say a 28-year-old Marysville man died in a crash on Woodward Ave. in Pontiac over the weekend.

Investigators with the OCSO crash reconstruction unit believe the man was traveling along northbound Woodward — north of Osmun Street, early Sunday morning — when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, struck a curb and lost control of his motorcycle.

The man was thrown from the bike, landing in the grassy median.  He was taken by EMS to McLaren Osteopathic Hospital -  Oakland where he died of his injuries.

Sheriff's officials said they suspect that alcohol was involved in the crash, but did not expand on that statement. No one else was hurt.

The man's name was not immediately released.

An investigation is ongoing.
