Maryland's Dez Wells Taunted From Stands About Rape Accusation
DETROIT (97.1 THE TICKET) - Sunday's NCAA play pitted Maryland against West Virginia and a least a couple fans against Terrapin guard Dez Wells.
Zac Jackson tweeted out during the game that the daughters of West Virginia coach Bob Huggins were taunting Wells about rape charges he faced in 2012.
In 2012, Jeff Goodman of CBSSports wrote about the Wells accusation and expulsion: "There was no anger, no malice or animosity in his voice, despite the fact that Dezmine Wells had been expelled from Xavier for a crime that the grand jury had decided wasn't even worth pursuing. Instead, the 20-year-old Wells somehow remained complimentary of the school that had opted to jettison him shortly after rape allegations surfaced."
He went to play for Maryland. And then Wells sued Xavier over his expulsion.
