Mark Dantonio A Finalist For Eddie Robinson Award

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops has been named one of eight finalists for the 2015 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award.

Finalists were announced Monday for the award presented annually by the Football Writers Association of America. The award is named for longtime Grambling State University coach Eddie Robinson.

This is the fifth time Stoops has been a finalist for the award. He won the award in 2000 after leading OU to an undefeated season and a national championship.

The other finalists are Clemson's Dabo Swinney, Houston's Tom Herman, Iowa's Kirk Ferentz, Michigan State's Mark Dantonio, Notre Dame's Brian Kelly, Stanford's David Shaw and Temple's Matt Ruhle.

The award will be presented Jan. 9 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
