In perhaps the scariest play in hockey, Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was cut in the throat by a skate blade during his team's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.
Fortunately for Fleury, the damage was minimal. He was removed from the game to get stitches but returned shortly thereafter. It appears he'll finish out the night in net.
Fleury's injury naturally calls to mind a similar - but much scarier - incident involving former Buffalo Sabres goalie Clint Malarchuk.
Accidents such as these underscore the dangerous nature of hockey and the toughness of those who play it.
