Man Trying To Steal Food Punches Supermarket Manager
DETROIT (WWJ) -- A fight resulting in shots fired has been reported at a grocery store in Detroit Monday afternoon.
The incident took place at Glory Supermarket at Southfield and Outer Dr. where police say one of the employees was cut in the face by a man trying to steal food.
The suspect, a black male with a light complexion, approximately 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds wearing blue hoodie, went into the the store, loaded up a cart full of food and tried to make it out the door.
A manager stopped him, they get into physical altercation and the suspect punched manager in the left eye while fleeing the scene. The manager received a cut under his eye from the punch and refused medical attention.
The suspect -- who police are still looking for -- fired a shot into the air as he was fleeing. No one was hit.
